Horse-crazy
I've been horse-addicted most of my life, catching the bug at 9 and getting paid to ride by 12. I've been fortunate to:
+ achieve Canadian Pony Club ‘A’ level
+ fox-hunt, three-day event and ride point-to-point horses in England
+ condition polo ponies
+ wrangle at one of western Canada's premier hunting outfitters
+ start and gallop thoroughbreds
+ groom for a member of the Canadian 3-Day Eventing Team at the first World Equestrian Games
+ compete at intermediate level Three-Day Events (aka CCI** Horse Trials), including a Pan-American Games qualifier and
North American Young Riders Championship
+ try cattle sorting, mounted archery and ski-jouring.
Since 1999, I've been buying and training diamonds-in-the-rough, then selling wonderful gems. I've owned several genuine jewels and 20 years on, hope that I've finally found my one-and-only horse.
Since learning to pack in 2010, I've ridden over 5,000 km of trails through western Canada's wilderness. But there are oh so many trails still to travel!
Do not follow where the path may lead. Go instead where there is no path and leave a trail. Muriel Strode
