Mount Assiniboine on a 6 Day Solo Pack Trip
Jewel, Sven (pack pony) and I did a six day pack trip up Bryant Creek in Banff National Park (Alberta) then over the continental divide into Mount Assiniboine Provincial Park (BC).
Aside from meeting 3 grizzly bears in our grazing meadow at 6:20 am one morning (yikes!) it was a relaxing trip with great weather and spectacular scenery.
In a strange coincidence, I did a pack trip through Mount Assiniboine in 2011 riding a paint gelding and packing a chestnut mare with a flaxen mane and tail. For this trip, I was riding a paint mare and packing a chestnut gelding with a flaxen mane and tail!
